The day about PiG’s YeAr
Saturday, February 17th, 2007Dog’s year will be passed soon, pig’s year is coming. It’s only left for 30 minutes(Jakarta’s time), so I just want to share my feeling and hope for the coming year.
As usual, new year’s means party. Party means you must prepare something to perform in the stage. This year job’s is "robber" (last year job’s is director), what a pity me! Few level drop, hahahaha….
Even it’s not as succesfull as my and our team’s hope, at least we already try our best to practice (until late after office hour, during office hour, break time, etc) and prepare everything in a very short time. For sure, I’m proud of all the team’s work, especially for Mr. Director, two thumbs up for your hardwork! This time I really try my best to act as the best robber (thank’s also to robber B and C for sharing the robbering skill, hehehe..), hope everybody like it =)
Nice hotel, nice food, and nice party… A little sad, I’m waiting until the party finished for the door prize, but I got nothing. Last year, I still get DVD player and rice cooker, actually I lost my number, but some friend give their gift to me, thank you guys!
Anyway, spring festival (some people called it chinese new year) is a celebration of hope (hope that it wll be more succesfull in the coming year) in chinese culture. Some tradition are still "celebrated" by most of the chinese race. For myself, it’s not about the party, but more about the time to share; share the happiness, hope, and care.
As a tradition, we will say "gong xi", especially to the eldest, to give our respect to them. It’s time to meet each other (especially for our "far" familys, maybe this time is moment to say "hello"), the best moment to gather, once a year. When I was just a little kid, I’m hoping hong bao, especially from aunty/uncle/dad/mom/grandfather, etc. I remember that my grandfather, when he still alived, used to give a "gift" as hong bao, not always money. It’s not such an expensive thing, but it means so much. He stay far away from me, if I receive the "hong bao", I can feel that he really care about me (cause he still remember to send me something). Sometimes he send a lot of fire works (till my mom give some to others). If he was in Jakarta, we played the fire works together, one of the best moment in my life. For sure, my little sister still so happy to receive the "hong bao", she will count the money directly (just now she get it from my mom, she looks like so happy). What a style of little kid! Eits…. I willl be happy also if you want to give "hong bao" to me, but it’s a little ashame for us (especially in our age) to ask for "hong bao", hehehe….
Finally, it times to say "Gong Xi Fat Chai, Xin Nien Khuai Le", wishing you and your family a wonderful and properous new year!
Love,
Girl @ pig’s year
